Mediation is a great tool to help solve problems without having to go to court. Agreements that are facilitated between the parties tend to last longer and be more successful then having a judge dictate how parents are going to bring up their children. It gives the parties a sense of ownership in the resolution. Many counties now require mediation at some point before you get a trial date. While most cases are best resolved at mediation, there are some for which trial is the only option.
